Power and Precision
Elite Strength for Working Dogs.
Build Resilience. Prevent Setbacks.
Join the next round before spots fill.

If your dog has ever hesitated before a jump, yelped during bite work, or seems "off" and not performing at their peak...
You already know:
Stoic, sporting dogs hide pain.
General advice won't cut it in high-performance sports.
That is why I created
Power & Precision: Elite Canine Strength and Conditioning.
Formally known as our "Foundation Strength Program", this is not just another workout plan. I have renamed the program, as the new name now captures the results we have achieved.
It takes you from the very foundations to a customised, hands-on strength training experience specifically built for protection sports such as IGP, PSA and ring sports for competitors who want to help their dogs thrive under pressure - not break down.
In case we haven't met, I'm Angela Ahern

I’m a Certified Canine Athlete Specialist, Myofascial Release Practitioner, IGP competitor, trainer, and judge. I’ve helped hundreds of protection sport dogs reclaim power, precision, and resilience — helping them to their highest levels.
My methods combine deep canine movement science with real-world, in-the-field sport experience. I know what your dog’s body goes through and how to build it back stronger.
This isn’t just theory — it’s everything I wish I had known years ago to prevent injury, keep my dog in the game, and stop second-guessing every training issue.
I built this system to prevent common injuries, build resilience in major muscle groups and equip you to catch issues before they lead to setbacks.
Who is this for?
Handlers
Handlers training in IGP, AS, PSA or Ring Sport, looking to increase injury resilience so they can compete for longer with a stronger dog.
Dogs
Owners of high-drive dogs that generally live to work and have next to no self-preservation (we know these types of dogs ;-) )
Outcomes
Tired and frustrated with vague advice, and now looking for proactive, protection sport-specific support and solutions.
What you get inside

Personalized intake session to review your dog's history, sport goals, and mobility red flags to guide your exercises.

Why This Works
Most sports programs don’t understand the unique strain protection dogs face.
As an IGP Judge and Certified Canine Athlete Specialist and Strength Coach, I’ve built this system to:
Prevent Common Injuries from explosive training drills
Build Resilience in major muscle groups
Equip YOU to catch issues before they lead to setbacks
This is about keeping your dog strong, confident, and career-ready.

Got A Question?
It is so awesome that you are looking out for your dog’s health! It is a pleasure to help you achieve your goals and we would love to help you with that.
Our Foundational Activation Strength Program is safe for all adult dogs that are healthy, functional and injury-free whether you are involved in dog sports or not.
It is great for non-sporting handlers to get more involved with their dogs and receive all the benefits of conditioning and fitness as well as grow a uniquely awesome bond between you and your dog.
Working diligently, the Foundation Strength Program is at least a 3 month training course. Progressions usually take place afterwards as your dog becomes more proficient in executing the exercises.
As a part of our current BONUS to you:
You have access to the full Program for an extra 3 months after purchase.
Novice handlers should be able to handle the training effectively. If you have never trained a dog before, you may find this a little challenging.
Some basic obedience training will always be an advantage. We train with a food lure to encourage or help our dog to get into a position. Some basic understanding of a treat/reward/marker training system would be great.
If your dog can follow a treat in your hand with his nose, you are halfway there!
To start, you will need:
- 1 x your Awesome Dog
- Some of his or her awesome and favourite treats.
- 1 x stable platforms with non-slip surfaces that fit the length and width of your dog in a square down. Average dimensions for an adult German Shepherd dog: 12 inches (30 cm) x 48 inches (120 cm)
- 2 x stable platforms with non-slip platforms that are a size your dog can sit on squarely and is not too high (ideally less than 1 inch/ 2cm). Average dimensions for an adult German Shepherd dog: 12inches (30cm) x 24 inches (60cm)
- 2 x cones or anything that is at least as high as your dog's shoulder that they may go around.
- 2 x Exercise Foam Pads (optional for progressions)
You may either make your own (as I did - I used old shelving and staple-gunned rubber onto them) or you may purchase something similar to an non-slip Aerobic Step platform, a Klimb platform, Cato Boards (please ensure that these are non-slip rubber ones and not fake grass or carpet, as these are slippery).
As you progress, you may add some elevated platforms, such as the Klimb and Cato Boards, or you may make them yourself or even use your couch if you have a large dog.
DEDICATED strength training is NOT advised for puppies or young dogs who are still growing.
However, the movements of the exercises themselves are awesome to teach as skills that puppies and younger dogs may benefit from. Ideally, all your dog’s growth plates (about 18 months of age for a medium-sized dog) should be closed before embarking on a dedicated strength program where exercises are performed as a repetitive motion with the aim of gaining muscle strength. It is not advisable for puppies to grow muscles that are stronger than their tendons, ligaments or bone density as they develop.
Any dog engaging in our Foundation Strength Program must be of sound health and function and should be cleared by your veterinarian to partake in our program.
This course is NOT for people who sit on the sidelines looking for a quick fix. Strength does not come from performing an exercise like an obedience session. Strength requires repetition of good movement to engage and contract muscles against a force so that muscles grow stronger, more agile, and flexible.
I want you to ENGAGE! Practice with us! Dive in! Interact! Ask questions (even silly ones!)
Sharing videos of your dogs and asking questions will take your progress to the next level!
As a sports handler, this course is where you START your Strength Training Journey with your dog!
The Program provides exercises, video descriptions, “how-to” instructions, and " how not to” instructions.
We include an explanation of Watchpoints when performing an exercise and when to stop performing the exercise, i.e. common signs of injury and fatigue.
You will be shown guided progression outlines for each exercise along with a Workout Tracking sheet so you may monitor your progress and performance.
The sports benefit of each exercise is explained in detail..
Please remember that The Biokinetic K-9 is not a veterinary practice and does not diagnose or treat injuries.
This program is for strength training for healthy, functional, adult sporting dogs who are injury-free. It is not designed to treat or diagnose a problem or injury (but it may help you determine whether your dog is hiding discomfort or not).
If you suspect your dog has an injury, we strongly recommend that you see a veterinary professional who can guide you on your next course of action to get a diagnosis. You may partake in this program only once your veterinary professional has provided a written release from veterinary care and/or veterinary rehabilitation stating that your dog may continue with a low-impact, foundation strength conditioning program.
Absolutely, for sure!
While we will only work with one dog that you enroll with, the exercises are helpful for all adult to senior dogs that are injury-free.
They are awesome for active pets and very essential for dogs who train for sports or work - any dog requiring good strength to perform optimally. The knowledge you will gain on how to perform the exercises and what to look for in your dog’s performance will help you with any of your dogs.
