Jump In!
Understand why your IGP dog struggles with the jump - and what to do about it.
If your dog’s jump performance is inconsistent, limited, or declining, this workshop is designed to help you find out why.
"my wheels are spinning! It all is very logical... the hair is crazy...but makes sense"
Your dog used to have a reliable jump, but performance has dipped — even though nothing major has changed in your training.
Are you drowning in jump advice and not sure what actually applies to your dog (and quietly wondering if anything will really work?)
You’ve patched together advice from agility, obedience, or general conditioning plans ... and while you wouldn't call it a waste, you're still stuck.
Or maybe your dog has come back from an injury, and the jump just hasn’t returned to what it once was.
This workshop is designed for IGP handlers who are asking:
“What’s really going on here?”
If you're frustrated by the lack of clarity, overwhelmed by conflicting advice, or unsure what even applies to IGP dogs, this is where you begin.
What we will cover
In this live workshop, you’ll get a fresh, sport-specific lens on jumping performance in IGP.
We won’t be teaching you how to train the jump. We’ll be helping you understand why your dog’s jump performance may be struggling — so you can make more informed training and conditioning decisions moving forward.
You’ll discover:
- What's really going on: Why strength and flexibility imbalances from obedience work often go unnoticed — and how they can directly impact jumping
- The mechanics behind your dog's jump: What to watch for in your dog’s takeoff, flight, and landing
- How to spot weak links: The muscle groups most involved in each phase of the jump
- A smarter, simpler way forward: How to use a "jump profile" to identify likely weaknesses and conditioning priorities
This is not a list of drills or exercises.
It’s a sport-specific diagnostic session to help you connect the dots behind the performance decline you’re seeing.
This is not a cookie-cutter jump tutorial. It’s a diagnostic session for serious handlers who want to understand why their dog is struggling — and what to do about it.

This is for you if...
Your Invitation
You don’t need more reps.
You need to know what’s really going on when your dog jumps — and how to spot the signs of strength loss, imbalance, or overload.
That’s what we’ll cover inside Jump In!
Get ready to see a completely different way of understanding your IGP dog’s jump — and what’s really been holding them back.
You’ll get a fresh lens on your dog’s performance, a clearer understanding of the physical demands of the jump, and a first-draft jump profile that helps you plan next steps.
If you’ve tried all the tips, watched all the tutorials, and still feel stuck... this workshop is your next best step.

What Attendees are Saying
Angela is a wealth of knowledge, and her passion for improving the fitness of our sport dogs is contagious.

I appreciated you using human athletes as examples, because these professionals train for their sports but also have additional conditioning outside of their discipline to cover all bases and also to avoid injury. I am pleased that you and many others are incorporating fitness and strength programs for our athlete dogs.
Amy Richards
I assumed there would be muscle imbalances, but I was really shocked to see how the obedience form can be counterproductive and potentially harmful to other phases and, in general, for the dog's health. It was great to have seen this, and now I have this knowledge so that I can be better prepared.

Meet your Coach, Angela Ahern
I’m a Certified Canine Athlete Specialist, Myofascial Release Practitioner, IGP competitor, trainer, and judge. I’ve helped hundreds of protection sport dogs reclaim power, precision, and resilience — helping them to their highest levels.
As an IGP judge, I’ve seen what happens when even the best dogs start to struggle with the jump.
My own dog came back from a grade 3 iliopsoas strain — an injury that would end most dogs’ careers — and is still able to jump with power and confidence.
But the real results? Those come from my clients.
Dogs who struggled to clear a jump without crashing are now national champions. Others are clearing jumps with almost 12 inches to spare — not because of magic drills, but because we addressed what was going on underneath the jump.
IGP work challenges our dogs in unique ways. If we want them to perform consistently, we have to support their bodies accordingly.
That’s why I created this workshop.
Have a Question?
No problem. Everyone who registers will get access to the recorded replay, which will be available for a limited time. We send out an email to all those who registered to let them know that the live recording is available.
No — this isn’t a step-by-step training session.
Instead, we’ll focus on understanding why your dog may be struggling with the jump, through the lens of mechanics, conditioning, and IGP-specific demands.
Not in detail. I’ll highlight the key muscle groups/areas involved in jumping and name the exercises that support them — but hands-on guidance happens inside my Power & Precision program.
This workshop is about giving you the clarity and strategy to move forward, not a full exercise library.
You’ll learn what to observe in your dog’s jump - from takeoff to landing - and how strength, flexibility, and centre of gravity affect performance.
You’ll also walk away with a workable “jump profile” so you can identify some weak spots in your own dog and therefore what your conditioning priorities could be moving forward.
Yes. This is for handlers whose dogs technically can jump, but whose performance is inconsistent, limited, or not scaling the way it should — especially after injury, obedience-heavy phases, or failed fixes.
If your dog has an injury, it's crucial to consult a veterinary professional for a proper diagnosis. Some strength exercises can worsen an injury if they are performed incorrectly or are not suitable for the specific type of injury. Once you have a veterinarian's all-clear to start a low-impact strength program, please do so. It will be the best investment in your dog's sports career.
If you attend the live Webinar on your PC, laptop or mobile phone, you don't need any extra software.
