I treat and train my dog as I was treated and trained the same way back in the day. I put my dogs on treadmill with weights/ActoBands first thing in the morning. Then I do strength training in the evening. Does this seem like an ideal?

To expand on the question of whether tracking is considered cardio:

Cardio and general fitness improves tracking. A fit dog has an "easier" time discerning scent work. Their olfactory nerves tend to "work" better than a dog that is unfit or out of condition. So while tracking may not be considered a cardio exercise in the traditional sense of the word, a fit dog has an easier tracking ability/experience than an unconditioned/fit dog.
