So, you have gone through the workshop and you may be wondering “Well, what do I do now?”<\/p>\n

Let’s go through a simple, easy-to-do process and let’s take it one step at a time:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Determine your goals<\/h4>\n

What are your goals with your dog?<\/p>\n

Are you in sport and want to improve performance? Or do you simply want to get your dog fitter stronger as your companion that goes out on hikes with you on weekends? Maybe, your goal is weight loss and a healthy lifestyle?<\/p>\n

Different goals require different plans.<\/p>\n

Get to know your dog’s “normal”<\/h4>\n

Well, the first thing to do is to follow up on the workshop information!  <\/p>\n

I highly recommend our Body Checks for Injury Workshop,<\/strong> along with our Warm-up and Cool-Down Workshop<\/strong>. The link for the workshops is found below in the Resources section.<\/p>\n

Get to know what your dog’s “normal” is.  Burn this “normal” picture into your brain by observing how your dog moves, sits, stands, and lies down.  <\/p>\n

This helps you immediately recognise when something is “off” in his movement. Then you have something to work with and have direction.<\/p>\n

Understanding your dog’s normal will be something you happily want to do for the rest of their lives! <\/p>\n

The Foundation Exercises<\/h4>\n

Then, start to look at the Foundation Exercises list, which is a PDF Download in the Body Checks for Injury Workshop.<\/p>\n

Foundation exercises form the basis of ANY exercise program that you develop for your dog. Precision and technical correctness in executing these exercises are key, especially for competitive athletes.   <\/p>\n

Healthy, injury-free dogs should be able to execute all foundation strength exercises.  They are safe to perform on flat, non-slip surfaces on the ground for any dog or puppy.<\/p>\n

Working through your foundation strength exercises will reveal a great deal about your dog’s body, detect injuries earlier, provide a solid baseline to work from, improve your dog’s confidence and relationship with you, and much more. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
