{"id":8395,"date":"2021-08-16T16:57:39","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T14:57:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogsolutions.co.za\/course\/pre-and-post-training\/"},"modified":"2021-08-17T10:45:04","modified_gmt":"2021-08-17T08:45:04","slug":"pre-and-post-training","status":"publish","type":"tva_lesson","link":"https:\/\/dogsolutions.co.za\/biokinetic-k9\/course\/pre-and-post-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Pre and Post Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>A recap on pre and post training<\/h4>\n<p>Performing at least a warm up and cool down with your dog, you are an instant hero!<\/p>\n<p>See to it that you can do a proper warm up and cool down before you go training and a cool that after your training, then you&#8217;re already good to go.<\/p>\n<p>There are easy movements you can do with your dog and perform for your warmups. Basic easy movements for easy warmups include a walk progressing to a trot, a few repetitions of, a sit, a down and a stand. Walking backwards is really important. Walking sideways is really important.<\/p>\n<p>Get your dogs to understand and be able to do these movements. If your dog can do those movements, then you&#8217;re covering a big body area for a warmup already.<\/p>\n<p>These are items that you can skills-train quite easily, and you can start doing so today.<\/p>\n<p>Perform these for about 5 to 10 to 15 minutes in your walkups and your cool downs (depending on your dog&#8217;s ability, fitness level and training session intensity.<\/p>\n<p>Along with training for these movements, and use this time as a body check.
